Alnoor University – The Establishment of the College of Pharmacy

About the College

The College of Pharmacy at Alnoor University was established in the academic year (2018-2019) under the name of the Department of Pharmacy, with the aim of participating in the development and education of various pharmaceutical sciences to serve the public and private health and pharmaceutical sectors. The duration of study in the college is five years, after which students receive a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy. The College of Pharmacy is considered a fundamental pillar among the colleges of the medical group. The college includes professors with extensive experience and high practice in specialized pharmaceutical topics, such as pharmacology, therapeutics, pharmaceutical chemistry, toxicology, clinical pharmacy, and drug chemistry, as well as other supportive sciences that are fundamentally related to pharmacy, such as human biology, biostatistics, histology, and medical physics. The college is equipped with lecture halls for theoretical study and various laboratories utilized by pharmacy students for both theoretical and practical subjects in accordance with the curriculum units. These halls and laboratories are furnished with the latest educational tools and materials necessary for laboratory work.

College Objectives

First: Preparing graduates who are scientifically and practically qualified in the field of pharmacy, aiming to improve health and pharmaceutical services to enhance the health and safety of individuals and the community. Second: Promoting blended learning through the Smart College, organizing scientific activities such as seminars, courses, and research in collaboration with relevant entities. Third: Enabling faculty and researchers to develop their skills through scientific research, participation in postgraduate studies, and specialized activities. Additionally, the college seeks to protect the environment, promote sustainable development, and build local and global partnerships. The goal of pharmaceutical education is to graduate pharmacists qualified to meet health needs, with a focus on human rights, gender equality, and continuous professional skill development. Furthermore, we collaborate with stakeholders to achieve strategic goals such as: 1-Supporting specialized centers to provide medical services for patients with chronic diseases and supplying medications. 2-Completing hospital and healthcare center projects in the governorate. 3-Expanding the provision of primary and secondary healthcare services to ease the burden on hospitals. 4-Developing health economics and adopting advanced financial policies. 5-Improving emergency medical services to enhance the health system's response capacity. Lastly, empowering stakeholders to improve the governance of the health system by: 1- Enhancing the quality of healthcare services according to international standards. 2- Bridging gaps in skills and knowledge among healthcare professionals. 3- Developing forensic medicine and popular medical services. 4-Reconstructing institutions affected by terrorism.

College Vision

We focus on the safe and effective use of medications and the development of expertise in the manufacturing and distribution of drugs using modern methods. We collaborate with stakeholders to achieve a comprehensive healthy community.

We aim to ensure the preparation of pharmacists who are knowledgeable and skilled within a competitive environment that supports critical thinking and creativity. We strive to graduate cadres capable of providing the best pharmaceutical services to the community while upholding professionalism and human values. We also collaborate with stakeholders to provide comprehensive healthcare of high quality, achieving optimal use of available resources to reduce disease and mortality rates.

Graduate Description

graduate from the Pharmacy Department is qualified to work in hospital pharmacies, clinics, and government health centers, as well as in private pharmacies. This qualification is based on their scientific knowledge of the types of medications, their prescriptions, interactions, and uses. Such knowledge protects the patient and guides them toward maximizing the benefits of medication. Additionally, the graduate serves as a consultant to the people in their community.
